Participatory Action Learning Tools were used in Pakistan as part of a series of gender training for Micro-Finance Institutions 2004-2006, funded by Aga Khan Foundation Canada and Pakistan. Organisations hosting trainings and using PALS in Pakistan included Kashf in Lahore, Sarhad Rural Support Programme in NorthWest Frontier Province, Punjab Rural Support Programme and Taraqee Foundation in Baluchistan.
The main tools used were early versions of the Vision Journey, Achievement Journey and Empowerment Diamond to look at women and men’s perceptions of poverty, empowerment and happy families and examine loan use strategies and achievements.
