GAMEChange Network promotes empowerment methodologies to inspire and support action for a more equal, democratic and sustainable world.

This website brings together global experience of individuals, communities and organisations using these methodologies to change their lives. It provides tried and tested toolkits, learning trajectories and reports on implementation and innovation options.

  GAMEChange Vision

A world
where women and men

from all backgrounds
and of all ages
are freed from
all forms of discrimination
so they can realise

their full potential
as agents
for empowerment,
happiness and
environmental sustainability
of global humankind.

Empowerment Methodology

The GAMEChange family of empowerment action methodologies enable women and men from any background to vision, analyse and implement their own individual and collective change strategies.

These flexible methodologies adapt similar pictorial diagram tools, participatory facilitation and implementation processes to the needs of different activities, stakeholders, cultural contexts and capacities.

Mainstreaming Empowerment

GAMEChange methodologies are integrated into existing activities and interventions as a ‘new normal’ inclusive, equitable, participatory and transparent way of doing things.

The same visual communication tools and participatory facilitation processes are used for more inclusive and effective technical trainings and organisational strategic planning.

They enable more effective and cost-efficient strengthening of capacities and self-reliance at community level.

Change Movement

The ‘big picture’ aim of GAMEChange methodologies is a community-led change movement advocating for social justice, inclusive and participatory democratic structures and environmental sustainability.

They enable effective, inclusive and informed communication between stakeholders at different levels, from the most vulnerable to the most powerful.

Action Learning

The methodologies include participatory and empowering action research and evaluation to clarify visions, reflect on past experience, better identify and benefit from opportunities and foresee and address challenges.

Participatory action learning systems enable more informed collaboration between stakeholders in identifying the most inclusive, equitable and cost-effective strategies going forward.

Future adaptations envisaged for 2026 onwards include:

  • literacy and numeracy integration
  • environmental management
  • nutrition and food security
  • health and reproductive rights
  • counselling and conflict resolution.
